Nadal Finished Raonic, Giraldo Next!

Just 2 days after his win against the Japanes Soeda, Rafa managed to reach Tokyo's Quarter-finals as he swept the young Canadian, Milos Raonic, in straights. Although, it eventually went to Rafa in straights, the 1st set was a bit tight with each player holding his service games. But it ended at last when Rafa managed to claim the break at his lonely break-point of the set leading 7-5, also having the advantage of serving 1st in the 2nd set. The 2nd set was relatively fair, somehow, Rafa...

Rafa Ready To Defend Tokyo

After a year from capturing his title at Tokyo, Rafael Nadal is back in Japan seeking his 4th title of the year. Although Rafa arrived last year in Tokyo with higher spirits, as he was leading the ATP's ranking with 6 titles, 3 of which were Grand Slams and another 3 ATP masters, I believe Rafa's keen on winning even more than he did last year. The defending champion began his quest to defend his title yesterday, 4th of October, against world no. 118, the Japanese Go Soeda. It took Rafa about an...

Rafa after beating Murray            The Semi-finals have been thrilling in the US Open, from the first point of Djokovic-Federer (1st SF match), till the last point of Murray-Nadal (2nd SF match). The Return Of The "Rafa-Crushing-Mode"

Rafa after beating Muller.  (Photo by Nick Laham/Getty Images)            I have so many to catch up on that I don't really know from where I could start, but actually I think I should start with an apology to all Rafa fans, who visited the blog today and yesterday, as I haven't updated the blog since Rafa's match against Nalbandian. Rafa's 4th round match was scheduled on Tuesday, September 6th, but unfortunately all matches have been...

Impressive straights!

It's been a week now since the beginning of the US Open 2011, and I can say that it has been quite a great one for our defending champion. Judging by his performance in the previews weeks, against Dodig in Montreal and Fish in Cincinnati, I believe that he has been performing in such a better level at the Open. It might not be his best level, yet it was enough to finish his 1st week at Flushing Meadows in straights.   Rafa's 1st challenge was Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan....

Beware NY, Here comes Rafa!

Long time, no see! Who misses Rafa like me? So, Rafa hasn't played since he lost to Fish in Cincinnati's 3rd round. Apparently, that wasn't the best preparation for the US Open but, as we all know, Rafa can win ANYTHING, ANYTIME and ANYWHERE!   Our defending Champion starts his attempt of defending his US Open title  tomorrow at Flushing Meadows. It's not only about defending his title, but also winning his 2nd Grand Slam of the year and the 11th of his career. Rafa's...

Rafa Shakes New York!

The US Open 2010 chamipon, Rafael Nadal, arrived in New York a few days ago, preparing for the US Open, the fourth and the last Grand Slam of the year, that Rafa, brilliantly, was capable of winning last year and adding its trophy to those of Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Australian Open to become the youngest player, at the age of 24, to complete his Grand Slam Puzzle.            However, this has...
